Die Midterm Elections stehen vor der Tür und werden uns wohl beweisen, dass die USA ein Beispiel dafür sind, wie Politik nicht aussehen kann... Ich hab einem Freund von mir in den USA mal eine E-Mail geschrieben und darin meine Verwunderung ausgedrückt:
Auf deutsch: Die Republikaner im Kongress blockieren seit Jahren nur und versucht nicht zu regieren. Verhalten sich wie eine Oppositionspartei, obwohl sie die Mehrheit stellen. Das gelingt ihnen auch so gut, dass die Mehrheit der amerikanischen Wähler zwar den Kongress scheiße findet, aber die Schuld nicht bei den Republikanern sieht, sondern bei Obama. Deswegen distanzieren sich auch aktuell alle Demokraten von Obama, obwohl dieser aus den Möglichkeiten die ihm die Verfassung lässt, mit das Optimum heraus geholt hat.
Bei den Midterms werden die Republikaner neben dem Kongress auch den Senat holen. Wieso weiß niemand.
Der Gouverneur in Kansas ist ein Kopf an Kopf rennen, obwohl sich sogar die Republikaner hinter den Demokraten stellen. Der aktuelle Gouverneur hat die Reagan/FDP Politik so weit gebracht, Steuern fast komplett abzuschaffen, um damit die Steuereinnahmen zu erhöhen. Die Folge: Der Bundesstaat ist Pleite, die Infrastruktur zerfällt, Lehrer/Polizisten/Nationalgarde muss verkleinert werden. Im Wahlkampf lag dieser Mann sogar deutlich hinter dem Demokraten, bis etwas raus kam: Der Demokrat war vor 12 Jahren (damals noch unverheiratet) in einem Stripclub. Seitdem sieht die Gegenkampagne so aus "Können wir diesem Mann trauen?". Hey Kansas: "He did not fuck the Stripper, but your current governour fucked your whole state!" Und er hat aufgeholt! Die Umfragen sehen beide jetzt gleichauf!

Al Quaida would be delighted to kill so many Americans. The US has the highest rate of prisoners per population. Still nobody wants to change that. Probably because prisoners are not allowed to vote in many (all?) states… I just don’t get, how the American people (or better: 50% of the American people) can vote for this shitty congress and give the GOP the senate… Currently the US is not really advertising democracy, they are showing that Churchill was right when saying “The best argument against democracy are 5 minutes with the average voter”… Can you explain any of these problems to me? My only explanation is that GOP voters are either stupid by not realizing what their party is doing. Or they are really stupid by believing that these things would actually benefit them… |
